The code of manavas

Book’s name: The code of manavas
Author’s name: Arpit Bakshi
Publisher: Rupa publications
My ratings: 3.5/5

This book was the first of its kind I read. Mythology mixed with science – fiction. I really enjoyed reading this different genre but detailed explanation of detailed technological aspects made it a drag and laborious read.

The protagonist of the story Krishna lives in Madhavpur and is keen on saving the lives of his fellow manavas( a better species of humans who are living on Bhoomi since millions of years) which is under threat. He realized that Bhoomi will no longer support life so he decided to search for another which they can accommodate. He found a planet named Prithvi which has similar environmental conditions as theirs and so he decided to research whether that planet will support life. As he is busy in his research another threat lurks in the street of Madhavpur. Someone from inside his council is planning his and his whole community’s fall. The rest of the story is about how he manages to find the deceiver and deal with him with the help of his most trusted friend Mohan and his uncle Shyam along with the help from his neighbor city Ayudhpur. What happens when they decide to move on to new planet Prithvi is worth reading. The last plot twist left me in complete shock. I would really love to find out more about the story in the sequel of the book.

The book’s cover was beautiful. It might attract the readers. It has a beautiful picture of Lord Krishna giving an idea about the mythological genre. The title also fits the theme of the novel.
