The secret of the sculptures is a mystery novel revolving around a lost sculpture. The main character of the book is Maitraiyi who studies abroad and comes to her home in Delhi to spend her vacations and find herself in the middle of the theft of a precious sculpture of an ancient princess. She and her friend Aditi find an exact miniature replica of the sculpture and that sculpture transports them to another city. That’s how they come to know about the divine powers of the sculpture and they wonder if the large sculpture which got stolen had the same powers? Were its powers being the reason it got stolen or was it something else? Is money involved in the theft of the sculpture because it was ancient and really expensive?
Both girls try to solve that mystery with the help of some friends and find themselves in the middle of some weird ritual and the most disturbing thing was that Maitraiyi was performing it without even knowing it. It was as if she had no control over her body and her actions. Was it the end or the beginning of some tale?

The plot of the book was good and the novel would have been amazing had the author portrayed it beautifully. The book lacked creativity and the dialogues were not written properly. The flow of reading got disturbed because of it. With proper editing, the book could have been better. The cover picture is intriguing. I would recommend this book to those who are looking for a light read.
